You want to work saturday at your pttime job but a bud ask you to go skiing. what is the cost of going skiing

Obviously you want to work that Saturday for a reason. Therefore, if you do not work it, you will be out of the cash for not working that day. Plus, out of pocket for the ski trip.
So the question is. is it worth going skiing, or go another time when there will be not pressure or guilt of going skiing and not to work.

Not worth it.. Thats why l am going skiing monday!

Besides monetary cost of the ticket, you may lose your job.or not. You know your bosses.

Personally, l only take off work to ski for exceptional days (2 feet of freshies or more).but that is a personal decision, for you.

ps: the ticket will be around $40-60, depending on where you go, plus lessons if you've never skied before.

all of the above r true. however, there is a cost/benefit that they do not consider. how much would u value ur ski trip? yes, u will lose money by not working, & yes, u will spend money at the slopes. however, if u love being up in the mountain as much as l do, the benefit that u get from hitting the slopes will far outweigh the lost wages from ur PARTtime job & the money u spend.

(im a commissioned retail representative. l not only lose hourly wages by missing work, l lose much more in commissions. but u know what? winter only lasts a few months. i'd rather ski my butt off now & worry about the money later. im still young! the key is to save up for the winter, like l have, for the winter!)

I've never had this problem.

When l only had part-time jobs it was because l was in school. So ditching work was never a problem AND l never paid more than $11 for my lift-ticket.so it was not like l was going to go broke by skiing. If l could not get out of working, then ditching class (especially in college) was always a viable option.

When l got a real job, l worked from my home (mostly) & made my own hours, so as long as my work got done, my boss did not care if l went skiing five days a week. By that point in my life l either had a season pass or enough comps from the resorts l worked with to bring my average daily cost to ski around $14/day.

Now l have a real job & a part-time job. The part-time job is at the ski-resort & l usually get paid to be on skis.plus it does not cost me anything because l have a free season pass & comps to just about everywhere else l want to ski.

Just quit ur job & ski all winter.

Really though, the cost of skiing varies place to place.

For example, l live in a ski resort town & have a season pass, So it is costing me maybe $10 a day (food, etc included.)

However, when l go to other ski areas l have to figure in $40-75 for lift tickets a day, gas money, lunch money( l pack my own at my home mountain, but l usually buy if l go to a different mt.) Money for apres beers ...so It usually ends up being a $100 or so a day.


l still say skiing>work, but thats just me.

adult lift tickets usually run about 40-70 bucks rental equipment 20-25 bucks
beer and grub well..we are talking about a resort, pack the gold and platinum
most hills offer beginner rental/lift ticket packages for about $50 but you're restricted to the bunny lifts so it is not much of a deal
