Wow.all of America? Hmmm..it is a toss up between Alta and Mad River Glen. l can not think of any other places that do not allow snowboarders.

Alta is plus is that it has powder.the downside is altitude sickness.

Mad River is plus is you wo not get altitude sickness.the downside is sometimes icy and thin cover.

That is a totally subjective question.

My personal favorites are Alta and Snowbird, and a couple of the Tahoe resorts too (Heavenly, Squaw Valley).

I've skied at Crested Butte, CO and it was great too.

Never skied at Whistler/Blackcomb, but have heard great things about it.

Do u realize just how many times this question has been asked?

Okay:

1. Alta.

Why? Because l have skied at a huge number of places all across the country, & nowhere has any other American resort come close to matching Alta is terrain, powder, ''attitude & accessibility. In fact, l moved to Utah from NY State 6 years ago, specifically so that l could ski Alta. Sort of like that Willie D character, l have skied extensively in the east, including Mad River & other Vt haunts.but the west takes the cake, altitude sickness & all. Yeah, it does take a few years to completely overcome that!

Plus, Snowbird is right next door. Although they allow snowboarders, their terrain is equal to or even better than Alta.

2. Jackson Hole.

Best terrain, great snow. Not my fav because it is in the middle of nowhere.

3. Alpine Meadows in the Lake Tahoe area was pretty cool, but l have not skied there for 15 years or so. Ditto with Arapaho Basin in Colorado.

l think l am going to buck the trends here & probably face the wrath of everyone in this forum but l really love skiing Vermont.
As an older skier l find it easier to breathe at eastern resorts than at places like Breckenridge or copper mtn.
Smugglers notch & Sugarbush r 2 of my favorites with killington & stratton being some of the most challenging.
For me it has to be about more than just the skiing to be a great resort. It is also the restaurants, bars & charm of the town & it is people that makes a great ski vacation.
In the past 30 yrs I've been to just about every resort in North America & have found that the best & most memorable trips have been to Vermont & Quebec.based more on the apres-ski atmosphere then the size of the mountain.

l have looked at the other & have skied most resorts west of Denver & south of Banff. l think as, one person said, Jackson Hole is the best. It is a bit difficult getting there but once there is is fantastic! A lot of people think it above their ability but it does have something for everyone.
If u go check out the 100,000 foot club. It adds a bit of a challenge to ur skiing.
Alta has great snow, l have heard they have a new high speed lift which helps but not much vertical.

In all of America?
My skiing is limited to the northeast, but there is one place l absolutely love.

If you're looking for not only amazing skiing but the apres ski factor, smuggler is notch is my all time favorite. With three mountains they have a variety of levels & the condos r great. If u go, check out my favorite resturant of all time, Stella Nottes, literally a 1 minute drive from Smuggs.

Go to http://Smuggs.com. Great Skiing & a great family resort.
