l really love skiing.My only problem is l live in SC. l am planning to take a few trips this winter, and the only slopes l have been to are Wolf Ridge in NC (my aunt has a cabin there) and Winterplace in WV. Wolf Ridge is definately not the best, and Winterplace is WAY overcrowded.Anyone have any other recommendations for good East coast ski spots?Thanks!

Stowe, Killington VT

A little closer would be somewhere like Snowshoe. 7-8 hrs from Greenville.

Killington in Vermont is my favorite (crowded but there are places to get away from the crowd). Sugarbush and Stowe are pretty good too.

You need to head north -- there r a few places in the Poconos in PA (Blue, Camelback) & the Catskills in NY (Windham is probably the best) -- but these r all mediocre - -just not that big -- if u r coming from as far as SC I'd suggest continuing all the way up into Vermont -- Killington, Jay Peak in northern VT -- Mt Snow & Stratton in southern VT. Depending on the amount of time u have u could hit them all.

Base don past years the Xmas/New Years week is as early as u should plan. Jan-Feb better chances of decent conditions.

If you are going to drive all that way for skiing, head to northern Vermont. Stowe, Jay Peak, Bolton Valley, Mad River Glen (skiing only), etc.

Otherwise, why just not fly out west? Hit some real skiing?
