l was thinking of going on a ski trip to a destination nobody ever talks about, and settled on Kyrgyzstan, which is known as the ''Switzerland of Central Asia''.

What are some other good ''unknown'' places to ski?

There was an article in Skiing Magazine (October 2007) about skiing in Iran. It looks incredible! The mountains there are monstrously huge. l may try it someday.

For now, though, l will just have to ''suffer'' skiing the beautiful, light, dry powder of Utah! :)

While not exotic.Tuckerman is Ravine.

l would love to ski Hawaii is big island. l lived in Hawaii for two years, and never made it there. Shame on me!

l have skiied Tuckermans Ravine twice. You have to hike into the bowl at the foot of Mount Washington.

Bled/Bohinj in solvenia, it was beatuiful and it had this lake with a church right in the middle ! =] !.

Not exotic by any means.but unique nonetheless.

l skied through Rocky Mountain Park the first weekend the roads were open & a bunch of us hitched rides back up to the top. l did that for a few runs.

Company on the rides back up was always interesting. One ride back up was in the bed of a Ford Ranger with a Swiss Montain Dog & two hippie chicks as my co-riders. Another was in the backseat of an '86 K-car driven by an old lady & her neighbor. They offered my cookies & rice krispie treats. Strangely enough.the old ladies had a ski rack on the car! (They were not skiing the park though..but l would not have put it past them.)

l want to try Iceland. l hear fjord skiing is the bomb. Then u go hit a hot spring for th rest of the day & hang out with dark haired, blue-eyed beauties.
