l am really interested in the volkl brand as a whole.I've been skiing for quite a while (7 years or so) and I am currently 16.I've skied leased atomic skis for the last 5 years, and every time l manage to tear those cruddy twigs apart.Not saying that Atomic skis are crappy, but those ''beginner level'' skis are rough.
I am looking at both the AC50 and AC30 skis.The AC50 is a little wider, which is useful for out West.That said, l live on the east coast, and only get 2 or 3 chances to head out there every year.The AC30 is are a little cheaper, but l think they might be better suited for east coast skiing, and still be manageable in powder.Anybody own either of these two skis?Any advice at all would be very helpful.Thanks!

No matter what ski u get, learn how to tune it properly. Get the ski u will use at ur home area. When u head out west, rent a pair at the area. It may cost a few dollars more but it also saves the problem & hassle of taking a pair of skis on an airplane. l have found over the past 50 years I've been skiing that most people never tune a pair of skis, & r certain that the pair they own r a bad ski because that is how they were designed or built. If the ski is tuned properly it can change the performance characteristics enough that u think it is a whole different ski. If u r an advanced level skier or someone who enjoys the more parks & a more exuberant style, go for the heavier duty ski, it will last longer. l have not used Volkl, but it is a popular & a high end ski.
