You should always wear a helmet, even if ur a good skiier & may never fall, that never stops someone else falling into you

Giro make good helmets, but most ski shops stock standard snow helmets, just do not wear a bike helmet or a helmet designed for another sport, it really should be a proper skiing helemt

If you're really serious about safety, u can buy the FIS legal race helmets, l have one & their amazingly safe (i had to get it for racing) but they do not much in the way of ventilation which is a shame

Get a race certified helmet. Not sure there still in business, but I've worn a Jofa for about a decade.

Double lens goggles. Poles with break away straps. Top of line metal bindings.

the helmet that fits you best and meets all safety standards.
The boots that fit you best, simple dont overcomplicate safety and comfort.
