im looking to become a ski instructor but im wander what the pay is for going to a place like canada & france and what the pay is like for going to work at dry slope or indoor skiing place?

l don`t think the pay is very good, but you get a free season pass, and sometimes cheap accommodation, so l think it would work out ok from that.
l think most ski instructors, liftys, and chalet staff, just do it for a love of the snow, rather than a high paid career choice.

At the least, minimum wage, which is $8.50/hr in the U.S.. l say this, but u must also remember that it not only depends on the resort that u r instructing in, but also it depends on whether or not u r going to do private lessons too. You get paid a lot for giving private lessons, so definitely do private & group lessons.


Also, being a ski instructor, u will have GREAT BENEFITS. l mean, honestly, skiing for FREE (and getting paid for it when u r teaching!), that is amazing!

If this is something u want to do, l say go for it! Do not listen to the people who stereotype u as a ''ski bum'' or whatever!

l assume you're American & know something about the pay there. You do not do it for the money. Canada is no better. Europe is no better, & you'd have trouble finding a job on snow.

But! Since u ask about indoor, if you're open to an idea, get yourself a basic English (Engrish?) teaching certificate, & go teach skiing & English in Japan. The instructors get huge respect there, & you`ll make decent money on the English side. Plus u may actually experience a different culture.. l know that may scare you.
