l am looking for a closest place to take kids for snowplay..where they can make snow balls, snowman and maybe do a bit of tobogganing.

l know about Tahoe which is about 4 hrs drive from San Jose CA. Does anyone know of a place with a shorter distance than this? l wanna avoid extreme hilly area too

Kingsvale or Boreal exits off I80 is probably the closest from San Jose. Not quite all the way to Tahoe but getting close. Tubing and snowplay. Still looking at a solid 3 hours though if not a little more. Have fun!
