Skiing, it is fun. Scared of snow boarding due to injuries to back and knees, which l wear a knee brace when skiing.

snowboarding because skiing gets boring after a while and snowboarding you are always creating new tricks plus a lot more people do it so you can do it with friends

Skiing, tricks look cooler, powder (with pow skis makes you feel like your floating), much more variety of tricks(butters, hand drags, switch or backwards), will be bigger than snowboarding

skiing definitely..its more challenging

Skiing is a much more technical and challenging activity than snowboarding. It is easier to get around the mountain, and you can do any trick on skis that you can on a snowboard, except with a bigger variety of grabs. The snowboarding craze is coming to an end. Skiing is beginning to re-emerge as the most popular winter mountain activity. And its more fun.

l prefer snowboarding because I've done snowboarding since about the age of 3 & i'm now 27. However l still sometimes struggle on lifts, especially drag lifts...

However skiing is brilliant as well, it allows u to do a lot more tricks & u sometimes have a lot more control in ur turning. l love doing jumps & off-piste in ski because u can go completely crazy & not really worry about breaking bones.

Unlike with snowboarding, l pretty much break a bone from boarding at least once a year! ( & l go about 4 or 5 times a year)

If you're a beginner, I'd recommend trying skiing first.

Skiing. because you have more control skiing. Each of your feet has its own ski, plus you have poles to help you balance, speed up, turn, ect., whereas in snowboarding both of your feet are attached to a single board, making it harder to balance, turn, ect. And you do not have poles to help you out in snowboardin either, and you go down the mountain facing sideways.

I've never been snowboarding but l am always envious of seemingly comfortable walks that the boarders can do with their boots on, holding on to the board, walking from the car to the lift. It is way uncomfortable to walk in ski boots. l know it is a petty reason, but l really hate walking in ski boots, especially on pavement and indoors.

My thought is that everyone feels strongly about skiing or snowboarding because of their vested interest in the sport, ie--cost of equipment, number of years skiing, riding, etc. So, each person will defend their mode down the hill to the death for a variety of reasons, however their vested interest trumps them all.

For me, l learned how to ski as a youngster & l continued on that path into my adulthood. Plus, l never could skateboard, so l thought that trying to convert to snowboarding would be a disaster.

If l had it all to do over again, l would choose Boarding. There is less gear to carry. It is easier to walk in boarder boots than ski boots. Last & most important, all the clothing & gear is made for younger, hipper, cooler people.

One big drawback to boarding is that traversing flats on a board sucks! You end up kicking off ur board & walking while the skiers pass u by. Skis & ski poles kick ass while moving in lift lines or trying to get from one peak to another on a flat snow cat trail. Breckenridge is Walkalot run is the worst.
