im looking to buy skis and l found some awesome loking ones for $60, but they are kids skis, would they work for adult skis? and a size 12 boot adult.

if they are big enough for you it dosent really matter they should be up to about ur nose and if ur a little heavy u might want somthing a little stiffer and stronger

No. l would not do that at all if l were you. Bad Idea.

Skis r designed with specific ranges of skiers' weight, skier is level, terrain type, skiing style, speed, etc. Kid is skis & bindings r designed with assumptions of children is weight, less rigorous moves, less speed, & progressing level (1-2 season use then upgrade).

If u use kid is skis, l can guarantee u one or more of the following:
1) You will not ski properly because the skis r just not right for you.
2) If u r really lightweight (less than 95-lb) u may be able to use them for short time & then u outgrow them.
3) You may not know that u outgrow them; thus limit ur potential progress.
4) You break the bindings & then the skis. Hopefully not ur legs (but the risk is there).

It is a much better idea to buy used adult skis than brand new kid skis. In fact if u r just beginning, l recommend demoing & buying used skis to start with. Trust me. Skiing is my life. ;-)

The flex of those kids skis were probably not designed for a boot as large as yours or your weight
my local ski shop sells tons of perfectly good ADULT rental skis returned from the resorts around here that it supplies. They sell for about $80-$100 and have lots of life left in them..if you're looking for a deal buy used, not toys r us

l would not get them. It does not matter what size they, kids skis are softer (more bendy, chattery,) and wo not be as responsive as an adult ski.

No possible way would they work. A child's' ski is much softer flexing and has less camber than an adults' ski. Rent some skiis for a while and find the type and length that fit you. Then try the rental shops in the spring or go to the summer ski sales. Even now many shops have used rental gear for sale, but you must ask them. None would be on display, why try to sell a $200 set when you are trying to sell new at $1000 ?
