l am planning a skiing trip to Angel Fire, NM and am looking for hotel recommendations nearby. We will be driving so I will have a car, but I'd like to stay as close to the resort as possible. Also, I'd appreciate any feedback from anyone who is stayed at the hotels on the resort property.

I've never stayed at Angel Fire, but l have to give a shout out for the St.James Hotel in nearby Cimarron. Even if u r just passing through town, it is worth stopping in. The hotel has been featured on ''Unsolved Mysteries'' or a show like that due to the high amount of paranormal activity that goes on in the hotel. There r still bullet holes in the ceiling from gunfights & rowdy cowboys dating back to the 1890s.

I've stayed there on a few occasions & the only thing l could attribute any visions to was pitchers of Shiner Bock & lots of Jack Daniels at the bar.

The food is good & if u can not afford the cost of a room in the main hotel (or u do not want to deal with the spooks & ghosts) u can get a less expensive room in the non-haunted annex section. I've stayed in both sections. A bed is a bed in my opinion.
