l am looking into buying new skis and love riding the park but l also like riding the mountain. l recently asked my uncle about them and he said they were harder to turn cause of the back tail. I am torn. please help!

l think your uncle is talking about the turned up tails we had on skiis about 25 years ago. The new ones are like the rest of the skiis on the market and will turn on a dime and on the feet of an accomplished rider will give change from the dime.

Just dont get the twin tips that are solely for the park. A couple pairs that l recommend are Rossignol Scratch Screamin or K2 Silencers. These twin tips are a little bit wider and are good for the park and the rest of the mountain.

there r soo many skis to choose from that r good for all mountain & still slaughter the park that the only way is really to do reasearch on the skis yourself & pick what suits u most for ur style.

these r very solid park skis that also perform very well out of the park. in my opinion this is the cream of the crop for all-mountain twins

The turned up tail doesnot make a difference when turning. its just there so you can ride backwards. l would reccomend the Volkl wall or volkl bridge. they are both all mountain twin tips that can ski the park and powder.

You're uncle is partly right & also partly wrong. On hard-packed surfaces twins have less edge to carve but in deep powder situations twin-tips allow u more turning edge from a shorter length ski. l never see the park but love my volkl gotano is in big mountain, big snow conditions. I've got mine mounted with the atomic neox rail binding(wide brake) which helps me put that wide base on edge but also gives me the option of easily sliding the mounting position for park riding which is not my thing but will be a great selling feature when l want to unload them

Twin Tip skis l believe r the future of the sport. They r good & handy. They help u ride switch, it makes it easy to have a strong core, softer landings, easier floating abilities in powder.

Go for twins. They r eaisier to turn. l am very smart in these parts of skiing. You should go for some park skis that hare not to soft but can be good on groomers. Remember that there r all mountain skis good for everything. l highly recomend twin tips. Unless..
You race or like stiff skis. Twin tips r not as stiff as a racing ski but may be pretty stiff sometimes. Unless u do GS or SL do not get racing skis u wo not see a difference

Twin tips turn easily, the ''back tail'' helps because it allows the tail to release at the end of a turn. l recently bought my first twin tips, K2 silencers. They r very light in weight, they turn very easily, they r very stable, & they r inexpensive. l originally bought them for glade skiing in VT. l have found that they work best in soft snow & powder snow conditions. l love them in the moguls & the glades. Their only downside is they do not work well on frozen hard pack, like on a very cold morning on the frozen groomers. Their light weight makes it easy to jump up on a rail, or do spins in the air, or on a feature. You will be happy with twin tips.
