Im am thinking about getting 4frnt msp isat either 171 or 181cm, and l am still be growing. l ride park and l ride all mountain.

in fact thats ah great size but dont wait to long..you might grow lol

The 181 is a maximum length for you. The 171 is a quicker turning ski & would give good control in the steeps. The disadvantage to the 171 is in deeper snow, where it may not give enough float to ur turns. Depend on how fast u r growing & when u will replace the pair. If they only last 3 years, the 171 is what l would recommend. Design & materials change quickly, my 170 is r 4 years old & now go to the rock status. The design has changed so l may shorten the next pair by 10 cm. l am ur height but 50+ more.

When we start talking about sizing it really comes down to ur ability level & where u r going to be skiing. For example, there r plenty of people out there that ski on skis that r in the high 180 is & the same size as u but they r advanced skiers & prefer something longer. Now this can occur because of two reasons, one they prefer the longer running surface not only for in the park but also in the backcountry when they r skiing off trail for more float, the second part is merely compensation meaning that they dont need them they just want to look ''cool''( l would never recommend someone to buy a ski just to look cool). What l am trying to explain to u is that to say l am 5'11'' & 155lbs therefore l should ride a 171 may not or may be the perfect fit, that all comes down to the ski that u r looking at.

The MSP is a mid flexing ski & for a park ski is on the stiffer side of things oppose to the STL which l would consider a ''park'' ski. That being said the MSP is much more of an ''all mountain twin'' & that would be the category that l would recommend for you. Now depending on how dead set u r on the MSP is there r a few more ski is out there that l would recommend for u depending on where u will be skiing.

The Dynastar Big Trouble is a great mid-fat all mountain twin. It is a bit stiffer then the MSP but in the long run may last u longer. It does provide u with a similar shape & is very fun through the park & in the trees.

The Prophet 90, within this category is on par with anything else out there. It is a bit more forgiving then the Big Trouble but that can work for & against you. If u r still advancing quite a bit u will find that it will allow u to make mistakes & recover but if u r not advancing as much u may feel that it does not provide u with quite enough performance. Still that being said this is one of our favorites in store along with the Big Trouble.
