Well my parents are going to take me ski shopping.And this
is only my second year (i rented them before) so l have no idea which brand is good.They said they will pay up to $1000 for the skis max. so l need a good quality one within that price range.

best brand to ski on ever,
i'm not a skiier, but my best friend and her family are obsessed with it, they are all instructors at the peak n peek resort, they say rosignol

l say Salomon. Or K2. Or _____.

l can understand u want the best ''brand but the reality is each person skis differently, & each brand will behave differently. Often times, people grow up on a certain brand, & will always say that brand is ''the best''. My own sister love Rossignol. So much so that she named her dog Rozzi.

All major brands r relatively well constructed. They wo not fall apart underneath ur feet! Normally l would suggest that u demo the skis first to see how they feel, but as a beginner, that probably wo not help you, unless u demo maybe 10 pair of skis.

My suggestion is to have ur parents take u to a local ski shop. Not a big-box all-purpose sports store (like Sports Authority). The technicians will be able to get u set up on a nice beginner ski, the right size for ur skill level, & a good pair of bindings.

l am assuming u r buying boots as well. Those r most important. Try them on first, & wear them around the store as u shop for skis. Do not be embarrassed. We all do that! Make sure they fit snug, without much movement. You do not want blisters. Make sure u take ur ski socks with you.

You should be able to get a good beginner package for under $1000. Consider waiting for the labor day sales.

You r a second year skier, so u will need an intermediate to advanced all mountain ski. Do not get a race ski. If u r in to the parks & jumps or want to next season, then choose that model. l personally like K2 & Salomon & Fischer. l have used all of those brands to teach on for years. How ur skiis r tuned is very important, the performance will change with the tune. This year l am buying a set of Fischer all mountain with bindings. The model will be decided on the shop floor when l get there. l am looking for a wider ski with about 80mm under foot & a 16-18 m radius. l may go with a 12 m radius & do more turns.
The new equipment is the best advancement in the industry since buckle boots. The boots r the critical piece of equipment. They must fit ur foot correctly, add footbeds, cants & then the ramp of the binding will all change how u ski. l spend 8 hours a day in my ski boots, they must be tight in the morning & comfortable in the afternoon. Spend as much for the boots as the ski/binding package. The boots will last 3-4 seasons for most skiers who only ski 50 days a year. The liners will adjust to ur foot slightly, they will loosen & u must be able to tighten them later in the day.
Once u r in ur boots, be checked for ramp & ur balance with different ramp amounts. This needs to be addressed before the bindings r mounted, & it impact what binding u use. Good luck, l prefer K2, Fischer & Salomon, the Rosignols have bindings that r less adjustable, hence more difficult if u have snow on ur boots.

oh and it could depend how good you are and how much you will go

Fischer for racing, Nordica for normal skiing, K2 and Volkl are really good as well. (My god, you're lucky.your parents are willing to pay quite some money.)
