Is it illegal to wear a Ski Patrol jacket if you aren't in Ski Patrol

l do not know, the resort may get upset due to the fact it is impersonation.

Odds are somewhere along the line you are going to be questioned about it. And depending upon the person who asks, they might ask you to remove it. However, l do not believe it is ''illegal'' to wear it. l would just bring a back up!

Wearing a ski jacket with a plain cross on it is not illegal. For all l know, u may be Swiss & very proud of ur country is flag. Wearing any identifying marks of the National Ski Patrol or a local patrol MAY constitute a violation of the law if u attempt to act in an official capacity.

Attempting to ski free at a resort while wearing a ski patrol jacket will get u thrown out & most likely u will be charged with ''Theft of Services.''

In some states, Ski Patrollers r also First Responders or EMTs. Failure to render aid to a patient may be grounds for a lawsuit, & if u r dressed as a Ski Patroller, u should be expected to act as one. Therefore by not stopping, u may put yourself at risk for legal action if u r identified, even though u do not have the training or legal responsibility to act.

Now.illegal or not, another patroller is going to see you. They r going to ask who u are. If u have no visible identification they will ask for credentials. If u can not produce them, u will most likely be asked to ''do something about the jacket.'' If u refuse or otherwise do something out of line, the patroller will ask u for ur ski pass & promptly remove it from ur person. So the worse thing that will happen to u is u will lose ur skiing privileges for the day or longer as determined by mountain management.
